Cycle Rally in Chandel led by AR to promote Covid Awareness & Fit India Movement

The 18 Assam Rifles Chandel in collaboration with Chandel Cycling Club (C3) and Kapaam Development Club (KDC) undertook a cycle rally to promote ‘Covid awareness and fit India movement’ on Sunday early morning.

Ajit Khatri, CO 18 AR emphasized the need for Covid awareness and fitness to the enthusiastic youths participating the event before he flagged off the cycling team at 18 AR main gate. Interestingly, the CO also took part in the cycle rally along with Major Sudhan P and team.

The cycle rally route covered a distance of 60 kms from Chandel via Pallel-Kakching-Khongjom War Memorial site and back to Chandel. Lunch will be catered at Modi village Assam Rifle Camp after culmination of the event according to report.

Chandel Cycling Club is a new club founded in 2020 with the motto ‘Ride A Bicycle: Save The Earth’. The club Instagram page reads- “We are a kinder, gentler bicycle club for anyone who wants to pedal, meet fun, non-judgmental people, and search for lattes. We are sizes and abilities”.

Telien Binky, the founder of C3 appreciated the 18 AR and all the participants for making the club first official ride a success. According to him, more of such cycle ride in the future with more participants are envisaged to spread the message of fitness and environment friendly lifestyle.
