Disgruntled former BJP intending candidates jump ship, joins NPP, Congress, JD(U) crew

Imphal: Former BJP intending candidates continue to shift their political affiliations after the saffron party denied them tickets in the poll-bound Manipur.

On Monday, as many as five former BJP intending candidates joined the NPP, three each to Congress and JD(U). Including the three who joined the party, the JD(U) has received seven intending candidates.

The NPP extended a warm welcome to the new comers intending candidates at a function held at NPP office in Imphal. NPP national vice president and deputy chief minister Y Joykumar and other leaders of the party welcomed the newcomers.

Congress also felicitated the coming of BJP MLA P Saratchandra Singh along with former minister Ningthoujam Biren and Ningthoujam Joykumar Singh to the party fold at a function held at Congress Bhavan in Imphal.

MLA Saratchandra was among the three MLAs of the BJP who were denied tickets of the saffron party.
