Senapati: Marking the 73rd anniversary, District Administration, Senapati observed Republic Day joining with the rest of the country. Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS, DC, Senapati took the guard of honour from the district Police contingent and unfurled the National Flag.
Speaking as the chief guest, the DC thanked all staff of the district administration for making the nation proud through their tireless efforts for better functioning of the Govt till date on behalf of all the DCs who had served in the district.
Talking about developmental point of view in the district, the DC asserted to be witnessing different developmental works implementing in the district not only in terms of infrastructure but including social indicators, education indicators, health sectors, etc. Out of 3-4 major projects that have been on progress at present, Maram-Peren road is one of them covering around 109 kms project. The DC appealed all to extend maximum cooperation to make it successful, urging all not to stop the work unnecessarily. Even if there would be any genuine cases, to stop the work is not the solution. For such cases, the DC invited to come to district administration, SDOs or Police who are ready to sit and discuss on the table to find solution. Another major boost for the district is the ongoing process of the Tadubi-Tolloi-Ukhrul road. Senapati district could be one of the few districts that has many National Highways connectivity in the Northeast, the DC said. Another additional highway from Karong-Kedima road is in process where the initial stage has been completed.
Another step to be implemented after the election is a separate library for girl students in the district in the next 6-7 months asking anyone willing to donate books can do so especially for girl child as well as for public also. The DC also stated to have been working on setting up of moving Bio-Toilet with the help of PHED in the district headquarters which would consists of child care unit also. The district Police has recently set new Police stations as it encourage free, fair and violence free elections with helpline numbers for anyone in need.
District Administration, Senapati, the DC said has taken up an initiative of Single Window Grievance Redressal System which will be made operational after 3-4 days. Anyone can scan any complaint and send to a given whatsApp number where complainant need not come to office for the same which is another major developmental activities for citizen centric governance.
With observance of the National Voters Day on January 25, the DC also announced that more than 80 new electorates will exercise their franchise this coming elections. The DC also appealed to all political parties to let their booth level agents at each and every polling stations to get them vaccinated which is a new guideline or restrictions may follow vice versa. Having taken the 1st dose and 2nd dose, polling personnel can take precautionary dose or anyone can ask the CMO office for clarification.
The DC also said that on-call vaccination has started in the state recently where anyone willing to get vaccination can call from home on given contact numbers to avail the facility within half an hour. He further added that the facility is also opened initially for district headquarters, Senapati and urged all to avail the facility.
A lucky draw is being prepared for vaccinated school students from January 24 to February 6, where the lucky winners will be awarded with a tablet for 15-18-year-old students. 18 years and above winners will also be awarded with Redmi phones. For boosting of one’s immunity and health of own family, the DC urged all to get vaccinated. Appealing to all, the DC urged all to exercise one’s right to vote in the coming elections in the spirit of democracy of the country.
The district administration, Senapati gave away Commendation certificates to Police personnel and other officers of various departments for their outstanding cooperation to the district administration.
