District Sports Association Chandel Conducted Joint Social Services On Gandhi Jayanti Day, 2021

District Sports Association, Chandel in collaboration with District Administration, Chandel, 18 Assam Rifles, Chandel, 8 BN Manipur Rifles, Leikun observed Gandhi Jayanti Cleanliness Day, by organizing joint social services at Mini-Sports Complex, Chandel Christian village on Saturday.

The ‘Joint Social Services’ was attended by Deputy Commissioner Chandel, Mayanglambam Rajkumar IAS, Superintendent of Police, Chandel, L. Deben Singh, MPS with his officers and jawans, Commandant, 18 Assam Rifles, Col Ajit Khatri with his officers and jawans, Commandant 8th Manipur Rifles, Leikun, S. Somorjit Singh, MPS, with his officers and jawans, club leaders and members under DSA, DLOs and staffs of various departments under district administration.

President Chandel Naga People’s Organization (CNPO) David Boyes and team, tribe and student leaders, medical team Chandel, 12 Battalion of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Imphal based team led by Inspector Titus Chiru and village leaders and members of local Chandel Christian village also attended the important joint social services.

President of District Sports Association, Chandel Ts. Chamna Anal in his short welcome note and speech before the joint social services kick off express his profound gratitude to all the participating leaders and members for their kind support and cooperation. In his short speech, he mentioned that “Mini-Sports Complex at Chandel Christian village is the only sports complex of Chandel district at the present moment. However, it is very unfortunate that it is lying abandoned and incomplete and not usable. He is nevertheless delighted to hear that, recently the Hon’ble Chief Minister in his speech at ‘Go to Hills 0.2’ visit at Chakpikarong has mentioned his desire to develop sports infrastructures in Chandel district. In this regard he would as President of DSA, Chandel would like to humbly request the Government of Manipur under the able leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister N. Biren Singh to kindly complete the abandoned and incomplete Mini-Sports Complex of Chandel district so that the young sports lovers of the district can get the benefits of it”.

Mayanglambam Rajkumar acknowledged and appreciated the good work undertaken by DSA, Chandel on Gandhi Jayanti which is marked and celebrated on October 2 every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. He wished DSA, Chandel the best of luck in their future endeavours.
