UKHRUL: The Committee on Tribal Unity has strongly condemned what it described as a series of “cowardly and premeditated” attacks on the residences of Kuki-Zo Council leaders Pu Henlianthang Thanglet, Chairman, and Pu Ginza Vualzong, Spokesperson.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Committee expressed deep concern over the alleged attempts on the lives and properties of Kuki-Zo leaders, particularly at what it termed a critical juncture for the community. It stated that this is a time when unity and moral support are essential to advance their political aspirations, cutting across ideological differences.

Referring to the incidents reported on February 12 and 15, the Committee alleged that the attacks were intended to create fear and suspicion within the community, derail their political aspirations, and undermine years of advocacy for a Separate Administration from what they described as a biased state administration.

The Committee on Tribal Unity appealed to those individuals or organisations allegedly involved in the incidents to refrain from such actions in the future. Instead, it urged them to come forward and engage in dialogue to address differences and bridge internal gaps through reasoned discussion.
