Senapati, August 28: Students from the Department of Social Work at Don Bosco College (Autonomous), Maram, in collaboration with the Ramrei Student Union, organized a relief initiative on Wednesday for families sheltering at the Community Health Centre in Nongada.

As part of their ongoing fieldwork in Ramrei, the students raised funds to support displaced families. The group distributed groceries, clothing, stationery, and other essential supplies, underscoring both the urgency of the families’ needs and the role of youth-led community engagement in relief efforts.

“Visiting the relief camp helped us understand the challenges faced by displaced families and showed us how collective efforts can bring hope and support,” one trainee said.

The Department of Social Work extended its gratitude to the villagers of Ramrei, the Ramrei Student Union, and individual contributors, noting that such initiatives not only provide immediate assistance but also offer students practical exposure to social work in crisis settings.
