Mayosing Khongreiwo and Chanso Horam become the first two Tangkhul footballers to find the net in the same match in the Hero I-League in today’s match between TRAU FC and Indian Arrows which TRAU FC won 5-1.
TRAU’s winger Bidyasagar Singh opened the scoring for the Manipur side tucking home a fine effort in the 14th minute. Mayosing Khongreiwo, starting for TRAU for the first time this season on the back of promising cameo appearances throughout the season, doubled TRAU’s advantage just two minutes later slotting home a well worked team goal from ten yards out for his first ever I League goal. While Indian Arrows did get a goal back three minutes from half time though a brilliant free kick from Patre, it was all too easy for TRAU who hit the young Arrows for three more goals in the second half.
Bidyasagar got in on the act again five minutes after the restart to restore TRAU’s two goal cushion. Tursonov, who had been dictating the game throughout the evening, assisting both Bidyasagar’s goals, found the net himself in the 74th minute to cap off a wonderful individual performance.
Chanso Horam then rounded off the scoreline by finding the net just four minutes after coming on for Mayosing Khongreiwo in the 80th minute; coincidentally, finding the net in the I League for the first time himself having replaced his teammate who has enjoyed the same feat.
In doing so, they became the first two Tangkhul footballers to score in the same match in the I-League.
TRAU sit fifth in the table on 13 points after today’s win and will take on Sudeva Delhi in the final match of the season.
