UKHRUL: A delegation of Office Bearers and Executives from the Ex-Servicemen League, Nagaland (ESMLN) led by president Major Vikuto Asumi (Retd) met with Lt Gen Amarjeet Singh Bedi, chairman of the Ceasefire Monitoring Group (CFMG) in Kohima on December 19.
The discussion focussed on supporting Ex-Servicemen (ESM) entrepreneurs facing undue multiple taxation from various insurgent groups, alongside other vital issues impacting Nagaland’s veterans.
The ESMLN delegation, representing around 5,000 registered members and growing steadily with annual armed forces retirements across all districts, shared how these dedicated Veterans, fresh from selfless National Service, dream of nurturing their families, including aging parents, through thriving businesses. Lt Gen Bedi listened attentively, offering his insightful perspective on overcoming such challenges.

ESMLN thanked Lt Gen Bedi for his proactive role as a trusted bridge between the Central Government, state administration, and insurgent groups.
“His commitment inspires confidence that ESM Entrepreneurs can flourish freely, fostering harmony among Naga brothers rather than discord. Likewise, robust reservation implementation will empower job-seeking veterans to lead dignified lives post-service,” ESMLN stated.
The meeting reaffirmed ESMLN’s dedication to peaceful coexistence and strong partnerships with all stakeholders, it added.
