Five-Day Barista Training Program on Bean to Brew Begins at Senapati

Senapati, September 1: A five-day Barista Training Program on Bean to Brew (Barista skill for a perfect cup), organised by the Senapati Entrepreneurs Association, commenced at Buddy Brews Coffee Bar, opposite 3D Hotel, Senapati Bazaar.

The training program is held under the Coffee Quality Division, Coffee Board, Government of India, with the aim of mastering the art of brewing.

Different topics during the training focused on the history of coffee, ways of drinking coffee, the bean-to-brew journey, the coffee belt (coffee-growing areas), coffee species, the anatomy of the coffee cherry, the coffee-growing process, coffee harvesting, coffee processing, green coffee, green coffee grading and defects, coffee roasting, the espresso machine and its parts, the grinder and its parts, water standards, espresso, the composition of milk, milk texturing, manual brewing, drinks menu, and customer service, etc. These were taken up by Yathish Gowda, Barista Trainer, Coffee Board of India, Bangalore, as the resource person.

Sixteen trainees from Ukhrul, Imphal, and Senapati districts are taking part in the 5-day training.
