The Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) has officially distanced itself from the upcoming event titled “Common Platform for Resolving Indo-Naga Political Issue,” scheduled to take place on May 14 at the Agri Expo in Dimapur. In a press release issued on Sunday, the FNR clarified that it is neither organising the event nor has it consented to participate at this time.
While acknowledging the importance of unity among the Naga people, the FNR emphasised that such efforts require “careful and thoughtful steering.” The statement said that behind-the-scenes efforts are ongoing, noting that the Naga Political Groups (NPGs) and Naga Tribal Hohos have already held nine rounds of meetings since January 14, 2025, guided by the “historical and political rights of the Nagas.”

“These discussions have reached a sensitive juncture,” the FNR said, calling for more time and patience as the reconciliation process continues. Additional meetings are already in the pipeline, it added.
Underscoring its continued commitment to inclusivity and unity, the FNR stressed that “all Nagas must come together and in this no one is left out.” It urged the public to be mindful of the complexities involved and not to jeopardize the hard-won progress made so far.
The release then concluded with a collective appeal from the FNR, the NPGs, and the Tribal Hohos, calling on all Nagas to uphold the “Covenant of Reconciliation.”
