Former President of India, Pranab Mukherjee dies at 84

Delhi: Pranab Mukherjee the 13th President of India passed away today at the Army’s Research and Referral Hospital. The former President 84 year old, was admitted to hospital on August 10 and had surgery the same day for the removal of a clot in the brain.

He served as the President of Indian from 2012 until 2017. A senior leader of the Indian National Congress, Mukherjee’s political career spanned over five decades, and had occupied several ministerial portfolios in the Government of India.

His son Abhijit Mukherjee, took to twitter about the passing away of his father.

Abhijit, has been constantly tweeting about his father’s health, and urged everyone to pray for his father, saying he was in “critical” condition.

Pranab Mukherjee’s health condition declined since yesterday. RR Hospital earlier in their statement said that “he is in septic shock due to his lung infection and is being managed by team of specialists. He continues to be in deep coma and on ventilator support”.
