Imphal: Speculations about the crisis brewing within the Bharatiya Janata Party has moved a notch up after Khwairakpam Raghumani Singh, an elected BJP MLA from Uripok AC tendered his resignation from the chairman post of Manipur Renewable Energy Development Agency (MANIREDA). He is the fourth MLA from the N Biren Singh led-BJP government who has stepped down from the assigned post.

In his resignation letter, MLA Raghumani cited ‘personal reason and public interest’ as the reason behind his resignation.

“It is felt that my continuance as chairman MANIREDA is not called for, at this juncture,” he stated.

Last week, the BJP legislator had filed a complaint with the DGP of Manipur against party’s Minority Morcha president Asker Ali Mkm for a comment on his Facebook post.

“The comment seems to have been issued with a malicious intent at the behest of people who are perhaps involved in drugs business and DO NOT want topics such as border and developmental issues of Manipur brought up in meetings with leaders in Delhi,” he wrote in his Facebook page.
