Senapati: The proposed 12-hour total shut down in hill districts of Manipur called by the apex tribal student body, All Tribal Students’ Union, Manipur (ATSUM) commenced in Senapati district starting from 6 am.

All transportation and business establishments in the district came to halt starting from 6 am this morning.

The Senapati district students association had earlier declared to support the proposed bandh including almost all the tribal student bodies.

Different channels to reach out to the tribal student body was reportedly tried but apex student body in a source stated that agitation will go on until the MoU signed between state Govt, RIMS department and student officials is implemented in true spirit, that is to reserve for 34% quota of ST in group C&D appointment in RIMS administration.
