Free Vaccination Drive Carried Out in Chandel

CHANDEL: The District Veterinary Office, Chandel carried out a series of awareness on Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD), Anti-Rabies Vaccine (ARV) and Classical Swine Fever (CSF) cum free vaccination drive across the district from February 18-26, 2026.

During the drive, held in collaboration with the Deputy Commissioner, Chandel, the team visited various villages across Chandel and Chakpikarong blocks, spreading awareness on FMD, ARV and CST. During the said period, the team also vaccinated hundreds of dogs, pigs, cows and cats.

Some of the villages that the team visited are Modi, Komlathabi, Mantri Pantha, Monsang Pantha, Cheengkhu, Angkhel Chayang, Kurkam, Sinadam, Ruwngchang, Dangkhu, to name a few.

A veterinary officer of the district informed that the awareness cum vaccination drive was important so as to prevent any related diseases.

In April last year, the district veterinary office had carried out a similar awareness cum vaccination drive during which over 100 dogs were vaccinated.
