Gambling banned in Nagaland

Kohima: All gambling activities have been banned in the Nagaland state capital by the administration with immediate effect.

The deputy commissioner of Kohima district has issued an order that said “some persons/groups of persons have been organizing gambling activities including dice games (Chandi Monda etc.) in and around Kohima.”

Stating that such activities are not only illegal but also create public nuisance and disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of the town, deputy commissioner of Kohima, Shanavas C has banned all gambling activities including dice games with immediate effect.

The order has been issued to maintain a peaceful atmosphere in and around Kohima and strict action will be initiated against the defaulter(s) as per relevant sections of the law, it added.
