Government Extends SoO with UPF & KNO

UT News Service | Aug 20: The tripartite Suspension of Operation (SoO) agreement with the Government of India and Manipur and the two umbrella groups, United People’s Front (UPF) and Kuki National Organisation (KNO) has been renewed for six more months effective August 31, 2020 till February 28, 2021.

The meeting with UPF was held on August 20, Thursday, where both the parties agreed to further extend SoO based on mutual understanding.

Meanwhile, meeting with the Kuki National Organization (KNO) was held on August 17 under the same terms and extension dates, with no changes in the agreed ground rules for KNO and UPF.
