Governor, DoNER Minister Review Ongoing Development Projects in Manipur

Imphal, July 11: Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, co-chaired a review meeting with Union Minister of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, to assess various development projects under the Ministry. The meeting was held at Raj Bhavan, Imphal, with the Union Minister attending virtually and sharing his observations.

Chief Secretary P.K. Singh gave a presentation on DoNER projects, providing a comprehensive review of ongoing works and the challenges faced. Key focus areas revisited from the previous meeting held on April 17, 2025, included handloom, handicrafts and textiles; promotion of Polo; tourism development; transport and connectivity improvements; palm oil cultivation under the NMEO-OP; logistics strengthening; investment promotion; development of vibrant villages; monitoring of PMO-priority projects; and completion of distressed projects under DoNER and the North Eastern Council (NEC).

Following the presentation, Union Minister Scindia shared feedback on each point and urged officials to expedite project completion. The Governor directed all concerned departments to accelerate implementation and focus on achieving tangible outcomes.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary to the Governor, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF), senior administrative secretaries, and officials from the North Eastern Council, who joined via video conference.
