UKHRUL: Heavy overnight rainfall has disrupted power supply to the 33/11 kV Litan Sub-Station, the Manipur State Power Company Limited (MSPCL) stated in a press note.

MSPCL noted that both the 33kV Yaingangpokpi-Litan and 33kV Litan-Hungdung lines are currently under outage and are not supplying power to the Litan Sub-Station. Highlighting the prevailing security issues in the areas adjoining Litan, specifically Mongkot Chepu, Shangkai, Yaolen, TM Kasom, MSPCL has informed that maintenance staff are facing significant risks in carrying out rectification on the affected 33kV lines.

“Efforts are underway to restore power at the earliest. Assistance from security agencies and central forces is being sought to provide adequate security coverage for personnel conducting line patrolling and repair work along both lines,” the press note added.
