25 Days After Tronglaobi Blast, Victims’ Bodies Finally Laid to Rest

IMPHAL: Twenty-five days after the tragic Tronglaobi bomb blast on April 7, the bodies of a five-year-old boy and his six-month-old sister were finally received by their family members on Saturday from the mortuary of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences in Imphal.

The bodies had remained at the RIMS mortuary since the day of the incident, sparking widespread grief and concern among the public. On Saturday, family members, relatives, and villagers gathered in large numbers at the mortuary to take custody of the remains and bid a final farewell.

A solemn funeral procession was carried out, with locals joining in significant numbers to pay their last respects to the young victims. The last rites were performed at Lamthaboong in Phougakchao Ikhai, located in Bishnupur district, amid an atmosphere of deep sorrow and mourning.

The incident continues to evoke strong emotions across the region, highlighting the lasting impact of the April 7 blast on the community.
