Hmar Inpui Issues Ultimatum Over Assault on its General Secretary in Lamka

Ukhrul, Mar 17: Condemning the alleged assault on its General Secretary in Lamka, the Hmar Inpui has demanded the perpetrators to surrender before 10:00 AM today, failing which it will take its course of action.

The Hmar Inpui stated that its General Secretary, Richard Laltanpuia Hmar was brutally assaulted on the night of March 16, 2025 (Sunday), around 7:30 PM.

“A group of men caught him on his way home, blindfolded and incessantly beaten even after he asserted his identity inside the campus of VK Montessori School, Zenhang Lamka. He is now undergoing medical treatment due to excessive bleeding and injury,” it added.

The Hmar Inpui’s condemnation note also stated it “is in no position to understand the contemptuous and cowardly act of the perpetrators who failed to exercise reason and respect for a community leader in this critical juncture. Hmar Inpui shall not take the matter lightly as it amounts to insensible provoking and disgracing of a community.”

The Hmar Inpui has demanded the perpetrators, whoever they are, to give in on or before 10:00 AM of March 17, 2025 (Monday) at Hmar Inpui Office, Rengkai, failing which Hmar Inpui shall resort to taking its own course of action.
