Chandel, July 16: Horticulture Inputs under Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) and Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) for Drop More Crop-Micro Irrigation were distributed at the Conference Hall, DC Complex, Chandel on Wednesday.
Organised by the District Officer (H&SC), Chandel, items such as water pumps, water soluble fertilizers, pipes, sprayers were distributed to over 50 farmers of the district.

NPK, plastic mulching film were distributed under MIDH while pumpset with accessories were distributed under PMKSY.
Md. Firoj Khan, MCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chandel was the chief guest while Md. Gayasuddin Khan, SDO, Khengjoy; Md. Tajuddin, SDO, Chakpikarong and N. Pritam Singh, MCS, SDO, Chandel were the guests of honour. Khagokpam Sundeep Singh, District Officer (H&SC), Chandel attended the event as president.
Addressing the event, Md. Gayasuddin Khan, SDO, Khengjoy said the equipments and accessories were distributed so that farmers could increase their products. Make good use of these equations and increase your products; do make good use of the equipments and do not let them lie idle, he said.

He also stated that when one sees farming on social media such as YouTube, it’s very beautiful. However, farming is requires hard work and dedication, he said and called on the farmers to make the best use of the equipments.
Over 50 farmers from the district received the equipments and expressed gratitude to the department and the government.
