The HSLC (Class X) examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) began today with around 39,700 students appearing for it in 192 centres across Manipur.
The examination is being conducted offline after two years with daily COVID-29 infections having dropped sharply to fewer than 10 and almost all the restrictions to check spread of the contagion except SOPs and guidelines issued by the state Education department were lifted in Manipur with effect from April 1. The examination is being held in the physical mode by following all COVID-19 SOPs and guidelines issued by the state Education department. The examination will conclude on April 30.
The HSSLC (Class-XII) examination of the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) will also begin from Thursday.
The offline mode examination of Class-12 will be held at 118 centres and a total of 28,400 students are appearing. Of this total, 8,203 are from the arts stream while 19,629 are from the science stream and 568 from the commerce stream.
Official sources said that authorities of COHSEM had taken all necessary steps to conduct the examinations in a free and fair manner with strict adherence to the COVID-19 SOPs and guidelines.
