HYC urges state govt to provide alternative educational institutes for Meghalaya students studying in Manipur

Shillong: Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) has urged the Meghalaya state government to provide alternative educational institutions to over 200 students from Meghalaya, who are studying in Manipur. 

Synrem said at present the conflict in the State of Manipur does not seem to subside anytime soon as per various reports and hence the fate and career of these over 200 students from Meghalaya who are, all these times studying in various institutions in Manipur, are hanging in balance.

“They have already lost precious academic time of more than 3 months and no one knows when the conflict will end also. Therefore, it is requested that the Meghalaya State Government should take the necessary steps to provide for alternative educational institutions for these affected students in the State or outside the State as per the availability of courses so that our students’ careers are not affected and their futures are not ruined due to the said conflict,” he added.
