UKHRUL: The release of IMARAM, a new Tangkhul music video MOC featuring Soshangla Jajo, brought together artists, government officials, church leaders and members of the music fraternity in Ukhrul on Saturday, in celebration of local talent and cultural expression.
The music video was formally unveiled by Yurreikan Hungyo, SDC (HQ), and Sunita Jajo, MES and Zonal Education Officer, Ukhrul.
Hosted by Kuku Shimray, the programme began with a prayer led by pastor Mayonsing Moinao of UBC, followed by a special musical performance by Chungshangla Jajo.

Among those present were YL Ravins, president of the Tangkhul Naga Film Association, Sochipem Kasomwung, president of the Tangkhul Music Forum (TMF), Shangrei So Ahum, CDPO, and Ringshashim A. Shimray, Sports Officer.
Though modest in scale, the gathering reflected the growing enthusiasm for original Tangkhul music and independent productions. Guests congratulated the team behind IMARAM and encouraged young musicians to continue producing songs rooted in their language and culture.
With digital platforms making it easier for local artists to reach audiences far beyond the hills of Ukhrul and Kamjong districts, music videos such as IMARAM are increasingly becoming a way of preserving identity while presenting Tangkhul music in a contemporary format.
For many in attendance, the evening was less about the release of a single music video and more about recognising the steady growth of a community of artists determined to tell their own stories through music.
