Miss Salle Khapai, Manipur state correspondent with East Mojo discuss with Meisum the role and importance of having an Ukhrul based media house.
Recognising the significant role information and communication play in shaping public opinion on various issues pertaining to Ukhrul and Kamjong districts, the launch of these new digital media platforms will prove to be a boon for the Tangkhul community at large, spread across the globe. So long as the emerging digital news players understand the sanctity and purpose of setting up such institutions.
Meisum is a captive platform derived from the rich Tangkhul-Naga cultural and traditional heritage where ladies and gentleman gathered around the hearth in their respective longshim (Dormitory) enjoying fellowship, discussing and learning different skills for personal & social development from one another. They learnt haolaa (folksong) pheichak (folkdance) pangthem (handicraft), shak-kasa (weaving & embroidery), thot-chan (history), ngashan (traditions), yaruirin (social life). Moral values and various issues related to social and cultural aspects like protection, welfare & development are also discussed in this platform. Fun, entertainment, socially constructive initiatives, voluntary contribution & yarthot etc. are also a big part of Meisum.
The objective of this channel is to revive Meisum platform through mutual learning, discussion & participation, fun & entertainment, share success stories and promote upcoming talents.
