It may be mentioned that Japhou is one of the oldest and biggest villages among the Monsang community in Chandel. Modi village is also one of the oldest villages among the Anal community. It’s resemblance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi name is purely a coincidental phenomenon, according to Modi village chief.
