Ukhrul: Due to the incessant rain and flooding caused by Cyclone Remal over the past few days, the power supply to a significant portion of Ukhrul and Kamjong districts has been disrupted. Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds has resulted in electrical faults at various locations, including fallen poles and snapped lines, said a press note from Manipur State Power Company, Limited (MSPCL) on Wednesday.
MSPCL also informed that the 33KV lines supplied from the 132KV Hundung substation, which serve areas such as Ukhrul Khunjao and Kamjong, have also been affected. Restoration work has commenced; however, it is anticipated that it will take a few more days to fully restore all the 33KV lines.
The inconvenience caused to the general public is highly regretted. The authorities are working diligently to expedite the restoration process and ensure a stable power supply is resumed as soon as possible, added the press note.
