India and United Kingdom flight operations resumes from today

As announced by India’s Union Minister for Civil Aviation on January 1st, flight operation between India and United Kingdom resumed on January 8, restricted to 15 flights per week each for carriers of India and UK to four cities in India till January 23 – Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

News of the first flight operations was also confirmed by ANI as the news agency informed the news of the first 256 passengers arrival in New Delhi from London after a week suspension due to the new strain of Covid-19.

As per the health ministry guidelines, passengers travelling from the UK to India from January 8 to 31 will now be subjected to a mandatory self-paid RT-PCR test at the airport. The cost of the RT-PCR test for passengers arriving from the United Kingdom will be Rs 3,400 per person.
