In a historic win for India in the 4th Test against Australia, team India defeated Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane to win the series 2-1 and retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the first time India beat Australia in 32 years. The last Australia’s defeat at Gabba in 1988 was against the West Indies.

Indian Cricket captain, Virat Kohli adding another feather to his career, became the first Indian as well as the first Asian captain to record a Test win Down Under. India’s wins came in the first and third Test matches at Adelaide and Melbourne, and were on course for a big win at Sydney. Earlier due to bad light and rain India’s chance of winning narrowed.

This is what Virat Kohli said: “WHAT A WIN!!! Yessssss. To everyone who doubted us after Adelaide, stand up and take notice. Exemplary performance but the grit and determination was the standout for us the whole way. Well done to all the boys and the management. Enjoy this historic feat lads. Cheers.”

Team India was led by Captain Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Mayank Agarwal, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya (VC), KL Rahul, Hardik, Rishabh Pant (wk), Wriddhiman Saha (wk), R Ashwin, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Md. Siraj, Shardul Thakur.
