Indian Army Organizes Ex-Servicemen Rally at Churachandpur

UKHRUL: As part of its ongoing commitment to the welfare and well-being of veterans, the Indian Army, under Spear Corps, organized an Ex-Servicemen (ESM) Rally 2026 at the Gospel Centenary Hall in Churachandpur on 27 March 2026.

The rally served as a comprehensive outreach platform for ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, Veer Matas, and their families from across the region. The theme of the rally, “Veterans – Building the Nation Beyond the Battlefield,” aimed to reinforce the enduring bond between the Indian Army and its veterans while facilitating the delivery of essential services at a single location.

The event was attended by Lieutenant General Abhijit S. Pendharkar, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding Spear Corps, and Major General Shubhankar Basu, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding Red Shield Division, along with senior military and civil dignitaries. Their presence reaffirmed the Army’s strong connection with its veterans and their families. The event saw enthusiastic participation from a significant number of ex-servicemen, Veer Naris, and Veer Matas, reflecting their continued trust and strong association with the Indian Army.

A wide range of facilities were available at the venue, including a grievance cell, medical camp, SPARSH and ECHS assistance counters, Rajya and Zila Sainik Board desks, PCDA (Guwahati) and ARO support desks, CSD services, an Aadhaar verification cell, postal services, and assistance from leading banks such as the State Bank of India, ICICI Bank, Punjab National Bank, and Axis Bank. Cultural programs were also organized as part of the event, enhancing community engagement.

The collaboration of multiple agencies ensured that attendees received prompt guidance and resolution of their concerns under one roof. Ex-servicemen, Veer Naris and Veer Matas, from across the region actively participated and made use of the facilities provided. The successful conduct of the rally underscored the Indian Army’s unwavering respect for its veterans and reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to honoring their service, sacrifice, and lifelong contributions to the nation.
