J.P. Nadda Launches Two New Schemes for Girls as BJP-Led Govt Completes Two Years in Tripura

Agartala, Mar 9: On the occasion of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) marking two triumphant years in power in Tripura, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha unveiled a visionary gift for the state’s daughters. The grand launch of two transformative schemes for girls was spearheaded by Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda, who captivated the crowd with promises of empowerment and progress during the celebration at Swami Vivekananda Maidan also known as Astabal.

The event, held to commemorate two years of BJP-led governance in Tripura, turned into a platform for bold announcements aimed at uplifting the state’s girls. Nadda, doubling as the BJP National President, introduced the Mukhyamantri Balika Samridhi Yojana, a financial lifeline for girls from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. “For every girl born into a BPL family, this government will secure her future with a Rs 50,000 bond. By the time she turns 18, that bond will mature into Rs 10 lakh, opening doors to opportunities she deserves,” he announced to a roaring crowd.

Next came the Mukhyamantri Kanya Atmanirbhar Yojana, an expansion of a scheme rewarding academic excellence. “We’re not stopping at 100 scooties anymore. Now, 140 top-performing girls from TBSE, CBSE, and ICSE boards will receive scooties, empowering them to move forward with confidence,” Nadda said, highlighting the government’s commitment to fostering independence among young women.

Reflecting on Tripura’s journey under BJP rule, Nadda lauded Chief Minister Manik Saha’s leadership. “The energy here today shows that Dr. Saha’s government resonates with the people’s aspirations. With PM Narendra Modi’s guidance, we’ve turned plans into tangible benefits, reaching every corner of Tripura. The trust you placed in us during the 2019 and 2024 Lok Sabha elections fuels our resolve to serve,” he remarked.

Nadda didn’t shy away from contrasting the present with the past, targeting the CPI(M)’s tenure. “Tripura once reeled under violence and despair. Now, with a 20% reduction in crime, it’s among the safest states in India. The CPI(M) and Congress may scramble for relevance with their alliances, but the people have rejected their legacy of turmoil for our promise of peace,” he asserted.

The Union Minister emphasized that service, not power, drives the BJP. “Our goal is to uplift every citizen—be it villagers, the underprivileged, tribals, women, youth, or farmers. PM Modi’s third term reflects this dedication, and here in Tripura, we’re crafting a future where no one is left behind,” he concluded.
