Justice Kempaiah Somashekar Sworn In as Chief Justice of Manipur High Court

Imphal, May 22: Justice Kempaiah Somashekar was sworn in as the ninth Chief Justice of the High Court of Manipur on Thursday.

The oath of office was administered by Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, at the Darbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, Imphal.

Justice Somashekar, formerly of the Karnataka High Court, was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court by President Droupadi Murmu on May 20, 2025.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by judges of the High Court of Manipur, Chief Secretary, Security Advisor to the Government of Manipur Kuldiep Singh, Director General of Police Rajiv Singh, as well as senior civil, police, military, and judicial officers. Representatives from Bar Associations were also present at the event.
