Ukhrul: President Droupadi Murmu on Monday administered the oath of office to Justice Sanjiv Khanna as the 51st Chief Justice of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.

President of India took to X saying, “Shri Justice Sanjiv Khanna sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan today.”

A graduate of Delhi University’s Campus Law Centre, Justice Khanna succeeds Justice DY Chandrachud in this prestigious role.

Justice Khanna, elevated to the Supreme Court in January 2019, is due to retire on March 13, 2025, a tenure of just six months.
