Ukhrul: The Kuki-Zo Council in response to the death of 11 Kuki-Zo Village Volunteers, killed by CRPF personnel in Jiribam, has announced a complete shutdown on Tuesday, November 12, from 5 AM to 6 PM.

The KZC says the shutdown is to honor the victims and convey the collective grief and solidarity of the Kuki-Zo community.

The Kuki-Zo Council has strongly condemned the incident and called for an immediate and thorough investigation to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice. “The loss of our precious Kuki-Zo lives is not only a devastating blow to the families, but to the entire Kuki-Zo Community who stand united in our pursuit of peace, justice, and security. We condemn in the strongest terms the violence that took place today and call for immediate and thorough investigations to bring the perpetrators to justice,” said the council.
