KOHIMA, MAY 9: K Elu Ndang, a prominent Naga leader with deep roots in student and civil society movements, has made his maiden entry into active politics by joining the Naga People’s Front (NPF).
K Elu Ndang previously served as general secretary of the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) and later as general secretary of the Naga Hoho, the apex body representing Naga tribes across Nagaland, Manipur, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Myanmar. In these roles, he has been a strong advocate for Naga unity, student welfare, the Indo-Naga political issue, repeal of AFSPA, and the broader socio-political aspirations of the Naga people.

On May 7, 2026, K Elu Ndang formally announced his entry into the NPF, a prominent regional party committed to Naga cultural nationalism, greater autonomy, and the early resolution of the Naga political issue. He was appointed as a member of the NPF’s Central Executive Council (CEC), marking the beginning of a new chapter in his public service journey.
Expressing deep gratitude, Ndang thanked the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Dr. Neiphiu Rio, and the esteemed NPF party leadership for the opportunity and trust reposed in him. He described his induction as an “Unmerited Grace” and pledged to contribute wholeheartedly towards the party’s vision for Naga unity, development, and political resolution, drawing on his extensive experience in grassroots mobilisation and tribal affairs.
