Kangpokpi, September 22: Kangpokpi Police have arrested one person in connection with the alleged assault on a Tangkhul Naga auto driver near the Presidency College Gate at Motbung on September 17, an incident that sparked outrage and condemnation from several Tangkhul civil bodies.
The Tangkhul Aze Katamnao Long (TAKL) had issued a strong condemnation and final notice following the assault of one of its members, Kingson Kashung, reportedly by two individuals who admitted to being members of the Kuki National Army (KNA).

KNAÂ laid down three demands: that the two KNA personnel involved openly admit their crimes, that the KNA tender an official apology with reasons for the attack, and that the demands be fulfilled within 72 hours.
The accused, as per reports, has been identified as Seibem Lhouvum (29), son of Hensei Lhouvum of K. Phoipi Veng, Motbung.
Per reports, the family members testified that Seibem is a drug abuser with no association whatsoever with any militant outfit. They categorically denied allegations linking him to the Kuki National Army (KNA) or any other armed group, rejecting claims that a KNA cadre was behind the assault.
