The Kuki Liberation Army an aes wing of Kuki National Organization ( KNO/KLA) has issued a clarification in connection with the allegation by the Gangte Students’ Organization (GSO GHQ) upon the KNO/KLA, published in The Sangai Express daily dated October 18, 2020.
The clarification issued by one Armstrong Kuki, info & pub. KNO/KLA clarified that the armed group carried out disciplinary action on some individuals of Siempat village for having nexus with LTT militant group.
Clarifying over the incident the KNO/KLA stated that some people of Siempat village had given shelter to a non SoO group LTT ( Liberation Tiger of Tribals) (LTT), which has been engaged in various criminal activities like Kidnapping, Extortion and killing of innocent Civilians in Longpi Area, and collection of Licensed SBBL Guns and forcing the Village Chief to Purchase 100 cartridges each.
Stern warning was given to Siempat Villagers to desist from giving Shelter to LTT. However, rather than heed to the warming, some of them are engaged even as informer. Consequently, disciplinary action was carried out to some individuals. The action taken was not brutal assault on innocents as GSO- GHQ alleged, it stated.
It further stated “with a view to maintain peace and harmony in the area, KNO/KLA further appeals GSO -GHQ for co-operation. If LTT Cadres are intimidating the villagers of Siempat, kindly take necessary action by reporting to the State Forces, rather than casting aspersions on KNO/KLA, it added.
