Kohima Municipal Council’s Government Nominees Administered Oath of Affirmation

Ukhrul, Jan 29: The Deputy Commissioner of Kohima administered the Oath of Affirmation to the newly appointed Government Nominee Members of the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) on January 29 at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Kohima. This ceremony was held per the Nagaland Municipal Act of 2023.

The newly appointed Government Nominee Members are Vilaseto Soleho, Azo Kirha, Viwhelie Khezhie, Dziesekhonu Metha, Vitso Rio, and Kezhazer Angami.

Vitso Rio, a newly elected member of the Kohima Municipal Council, expressed gratitude on behalf of the council to the government led by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for their trust in electing them as council members. He emphasized the importance of collective efforts for the development of Kohima and urged everyone to contribute constructive ideas to enhance the town’s growth and infrastructure.

The event was attended by key members of the KMC, including the State Election Commissioner, the Commissioner of Nagaland, the Commissioner and Secretary of the Municipal Affairs Department, the Chairperson of the KMC, and the Chief Executive Officer of the KMC.
