Konsakhul Area Joint Action Committee calls off Jan 31 midnight Indefinite bandh over NSU row

An emergency meeting held between the chief minister N Biren Singh and Konsakhul Area Joint Action Committee (KAJAC) on Sunday arrived at an agreement to call off the proposed indefinite bandh by KAJAC.

The statement issued said that the Manipur government has “noted the claim of the ownership of Konsakul” in the emergency meeting joined by minister Awangbow Newmai, minister, Forest & Environment, Sericulture and Climate Change and Letpao Haokip, minister of Youth Affairs and Sports.

The state government decided to discuss the matter with all the stakeholders, it said. It also further requested the Central Sports Ministry to review as proposed by the JAC to bring about an amicable solution at the earliest possible time, the statement added.

The next round of discussion will be held on February 13, 2021.
