KVS Group Celebrates 40 Years Of Service

Ukhrul, November 23: KVS Group on Saturday celebrated 40 years of incredible service at Community Recreation Centre, Lanaitang, Hunphun, Ukhrul.

Founded in 1984, from a humble beginning, the group expanded into diverse sectors – KV. Transports, KV. Traders, KV. Constructions, KV. Earth Movers, KV. Oil Services, KV Stationeries and KV. Hotel. Today, it is one of the leading companies in the Tangkhul community.

In his reflections, Minister Khashim Vashum, founder of KVS Group, reminisced about his humble beginnings in 1984, when he embarked on his career with a small contract worth just Rs 5,226. He noted that, at that time, he didn’t even own a bicycle.

He credited his achievements to the grace of God, affirming, “It is God’s grace that I’m experiencing this success today.”

Khashim Vashum expressed deep gratitude to his parents and parents-in-law for their unwavering support. He fondly remembered his late father-in-law and mother-in-law, acknowledging their impact on his journey.

As a founding general secretary of the Tangkhul Fellowship, Shillong, Khashim emphasized the importance of faith, urging others to embrace their belief in the Almighty and work diligently, assuring that hard work leads to success.

Khashim Vashum also extended his heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported him in various ways throughout his endeavors.

Khashim Vashum’s entrepreneurial journey began modestly in 1984 as a sub-contractor under PHED Department Manipur, with a humble work order of Rs. 5,226. Undaunted, he diversified into small-scale ventures. Reselling steel plates, audio cassettes, wool yarns, cow rearing and milk distribution. Embracing the mantra “no job is too big nor too small, every opportunity is a chance to learn and earn,” his vision and perseverance propelled the establishment of KVS group.

Further, his passion let him join politics to serve the people. He was the elected representative of 45 Chingai Assembly Constituency since 2017-2022 and re-elected again in 2022-2027 from the Naga People’s Front party. Currently, he serves as Minister for Veterinary & Animal Husbandry and Transport Department, Manipur.

His vision for the future encompasses principles and values that prioritise the welfare and empower the community for a brighter future.

The celebration was attended by several well wishers from different corners of the state.
