Lamkang Naga Students Delhi Organise 25th Freshers’ Meet

NEW DELHI, NOV 10: The Lamkang Kurchuknao Kunpun, Delhi (LKKD) organised their 25th get-together and Freshers’ Meet on Saturday evening at Jaypee Vasant Continental Hotel, Vasant Vihar in New Delhi under the theme ‘Growing in Faith, Zeal and Success’.

The event saw over 500 individuals comprising those from the Lamkang Naga community in Delhi including about 20 freshers along with representatives from other Naga student bodies in Delhi such as Naga Students’ Union, Delhi (NSUD), Anal Naga student union, Chothe student union to name a few. Leaders from the Lamkang Naga community in Chandel also attended the event.

After being introduced, the freshers were blessed and prayed for by Wynlic Sankhil, Chaplain, Lamkang Christian Fellowship, Delhi.

SS. Olish, MLA, 41-Chandel (ST) AC graced the event as chief guest and addressing the meet, encouraged the students to dedicate their time in their studies. She emphasized that only hard work and dedication would bring them success. She also advised them to learn and develop various other survival skills.

Welcoming the gathering, Sheththot Jangvei, president of LKKD said the event was being organised to welcome freshers from the Lamkang Naga community to Delhi and encourage them. It is also an opportunity for all the Lamkangs in Delhi to come together and celebrate God’s faithfulness, he said.

Johnny Dilbung, President, Lamkang Kurchuknao Kunpun (LKK), the apex body of the Lamkang Naga student union, extending his greetings on the occassion. He encouraged the students to concentrate on their studies and career.

Advocate Chamshel Dilbung, Advisor, LKKD, exhorted the students with words of encouragement while Bering Shankhil, general secretary of LKKD gave the vote of thanks.

The event also witnessed Maring War Dance, a traditional show in style, etc.
