UKHRUL, NOVEMBER 9: The notification of the Manipur Civil Services Combined Competitive Examination 2022, was issued on December 7, 2022 with a total of 100 vacancies for various posts in the Manipur State Services.

It included Manipur Civil Service-Grade-II, Manipur Police Service-Grade-II, Manipur Finance Service Grade-III, Sub Deputy Collector and Manipur Secretariat Service Category-VI.

The selection process of the exam is involved in three processes, the Preliminary Examination was held April 30, 2022 the Mains examination was scheduled from November 7 to November 9 2025 and the Personality test was to be conducted after the mains exam.

Paper-IV (General Studies-III) and Paper-V (General Studies-IV) were scheduled for today (November 9) in Imphal and Guwahati. However, the examination faced a major setback due to paper irregularities and has now been rescheduled by the commission to November 22, 2025.

It was reportedly discovered while opening the seal that there was a mismatch between the headings of the Question Papers. Paper- V ( GS-IV) was given instead of Paper-IV (GS-III) due to an error of the Secured Printing Press.

“My wife was there in the exam hall. The evening question paper was distributed in the morning session. It looks like an intentional play by some of the staffs,” a source stated.

A clarification notice was issued later during the day stating that the error could not be detected earlier because MPSC is not allowed to see the Question Papers to keep full confidentiality. The question paper is opened only in front of the candidates in the examination hall.

It was also mentioned that it is the endeavor of the MPSC to keep full confidentiality even at the risk of not being able to detect error in the printing of the question papers as confidentiality is paramount.

Candidates have expressed disappointment over the administrative lapses, urging the Commission to ensure transparency and fairness in the rescheduled examination.
