Liangmai Naga Katimai Ruangdi Holds 1st Legislative Assembly & Seminar on Inclusive Education in Manipur

Imphal, Mar 10: The Liangmai Naga Katimai Ruangdi, Manipur (LNKRM), the apex student body of the Liangmai tribe in Manipur, conducted the 1st Legislative Assembly cum Seminar on Inclusive Education: Past, Present and Future based on National Education Policy 2020 on March 8 and 9 at Aling (Khundong Khunkhaiba) village, Tamenglong district, Manipur, featuring an esteemed resource person, students and community leaders.

LNKR is dedicated to promoting education and community development.

The event was graced by Kengsung Newmai, Assistant Inspector of Schools, and Deputy Inspector Tamei. 

Speaking at the seminar, Kengsung Newmai emphasized the current education policies, various facilities and the upgradation of education. He stressed on the role and responsibilities of parents and teachers and to be aware of newpolicies being updated and make the students of this generation be competent with the rest of the country. He also shared that the village authority council, SMDC members and concerned school’s department should be held accountable and maintain transparency in shaping the career of the students.

Mathiuchunbou Rimai, president of LNKR, strongly expressed that education is the greatest tool for achieving social justice and equality that brings changes to society. Rimai encouraged students to focus more on professional courses and discover their talents. In this fast-changing world in the era of computers and the internet, parents should also know what their children are exactly doing, he also said. Many youths have become desperate since they are jobless with their mere certificate in this competitive world, he added. Therefore, the youth should also engage more on vocational courses and discover their strengths and weaknesses less they become misnomers in society, he advised.

Meanwhile, in the 1st LNKR Legislative Assembly the student body strongly took a stern decision that they would not leave any stone unturned to uplift, upgrade and for the progress of society. 

Mathiuchunbou Rimai and his executive then inspected the schools in Kundong Khunkahiba and interacted with the school authorities and students. The LNKR team then assured that the union would not leave them behind but rather find a positive means to develop the infrastructure and administration of the schools.

The event was attended by about 1000 people, including 70 units of LNKR and others.
