Pungro, Aug 19: The newly established Little Flower Higher Secondary Section in Pungro was officially blessed and inaugurated today with a ceremony attended by distinguished guests, including MLA S. Kiusumew and Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima.

In his address, Bishop Thoppil highlighted the significant role of the Catholic community in the development of Pungro, expressing gratitude for the cooperation extended by the fathers, sisters, and local populace. He emphasized that growth and development are gradual and collaborative processes. Drawing a parallel between the condition of roads and human nerves, he urged both the administration and MLA to address the poor road conditions, asserting that proper connectivity is essential for the area’s advancement.The Bishop also underscored the Catholic Church’s commitment to serving the community, with the hope that the students and residents will act as catalysts for societal change. He stressed the importance of mutual cooperation between teachers and administration to foster a supportive educational environment.

MLA S. Kiusumew, visibly moved by the performances of the students, affirmed his commitment to the area’s development. He acknowledged the collective dedication of the community towards Pungro’s progress and assured that road repairs would be prioritized. Additionally, he requested the Bishop to consider introducing a Science stream at the school.
