Main accused in the murder of 17 yr-old girl arrested in Dimapur

The main accused involved in the murder of a 17-year-old girl was arrested by the police from his residence from Senjum village, Dimapur yesterday. The accused has been identified as a 19-year-old theological student.

Commissioner of Police, Dimapur Rothihu Tetseo informed that the accused who came into contact with the victim on social media called her for an evening walk on October 21.

Later, she was found murdered in a school playground. The Commissioner said the motive behind the crime is yet to be established as the investigation is still in a preliminary stage and the post-mortem report is awaited.

The Commissioner appealed the public not to circulate the victim’s photo and identity on social media as it is against the law.
