Man dupe customers selling baby chicks for Turkey poults

Ukhrul: In a classic case of off the chart scam case, a scammer who duped customers in Ukhrul town, selling baby chicks for Turkey poults was apprehended by locals on June 4.

The scammer, identified as Ali Hosen Mollha, shaved the baby chick’s top head and neck, mimicking Turkey poults, reportedly sold three baby chicks for Rs 500 to customers. Customers, unaware of the scam, bought into the scammers deceiving net.

However, alert locals quickly called out the scammer and requested customers who bought from Ali to have the baby chicks returned.

The culprit is identified as Ali Hossen Mollha is from Hokaldanga Madhyapara Nalua, South 24 Pargana, Mathurapur –I, West Bengal.
