Manipur: 2,520 Litres of Seized Liquor Disposed

KANGPOKPI: As many as 2,520 litres of illicit country liquor (DIC) confiscated by the Sapormeina Police Station in Kangpopki district were disposed of on Monday, following the order of the state Commissioner of Excise Hungyo Worshang.

The Sapormeina Police Station had reportedly handed over the seized articles to Sapormeina Excise Station on February 28. However, the seized articles were making the Malkhan of the station congested, also leading to leakage of some of the confiscated liquor.

Hence, the Commissioner of Excise ordered the disposal of the confiscated items at Sapormeina Excise Station at the earliest.

The confiscated items were disposed of on Monday around 11 am in the presence of Police personnel, media personnel and civil societies.
