Manipur BJP Chief, A Sharda Visits Ukhrul District as Part of ‘Thambal (Lotus) Campaign’

Manipur Pradesh BJP President Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi as part of her first Thambal (Lotus) Campaign visited Ukhrul district today.

A Sharda Devi’s maiden visit to Ukhrul district is joined by state BJP leaders, Ch Chidananda Singh, State vice president, In-charge Ukhrul district and P Premananda Meitei State general secretary for the campaign set from October 21 till 22.

According to source, the campaign will extensively tour villages of Ukhrul district Assembly Constituencies to meet, discuss and interact with the local populace in identifying the grievances and problems of the people at grassroots level at the hill district in Manipur.

The Kamal Pravash Campaign or Thambal (Lotus) Campaign today began with public reception at Tongou (Ringui) village under Chingai A/C, Sirarakhong village, followed by Teinem.

“Opinions and suggestions of local headmen, Village Authorities and local leaders will be officially recorded and worthwhile suggestions for the welfare and well-being of the local people will be conveyed to the State and Central Governments for necessary official actions and redressal,” said Michael Shaiza, BJP Manipur Pradesh/ State Co-in-charge Department of Political Programmes and Meeting cum President Ecological Rehabilitators Association (ERA).

Today’s campaign led by A Shrada Devi also visited Medical Camp which was followed by joint organization meeting of BJP Chingai Mandal with locality booth presidents.

The entourage then held a public reception at Tuinem village, Phalee village, Somdal village, followed by Talui village. The team arrived at BJP Ukhrul district office, Hamleikhong at Ukhrul town in the evening. This was followed by a joint meeting organizational meeting of BJP office bearers and moarcha president and general secretaries and a public meeting at Ukhrul Town Hall was organized by BJP Ukhrul Mandal, according to source.

A Shrada Devi and her team on October 22, Friday, will hold meeting at Wino Bazaar, visit Ava Market and arrive at Yaolen village, near Litan tomorrow and thereafter head back to Imphal, the source said.

MK Preshow Shimray, former deputy speaker and indenting BJP candidate for 45-Chingai (ST) A/C wrote on his official Facebook handle, “I am honoured to welcome Smt. A Sharda Devi, Hon’ble President BJP Manipur Pradesh and her entourage team at Mahadev today on her 1st official visit to 45 (ST) Chingai AC where she is covering and meeting the leaders and Party Karyakartas of biggest western villages including Tongou, Sirarakhong, Teinem, Phalee, Somdal and Tolloi villages.”

While Ningam Chamroy, indenting BJP candidate for 45-Chingai (ST) A/C took to his official Facebook handle and said, “Today, I join the people of Ringui Village, Village Headman, Village Leaders, Party leaders and Party karyakatas in welcoming BJP Manipur Pradesh President Smt. Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi at Ringui Village during her maiden tour program of Ukhrul District.”

Hopingson A Shimray, indenting BJP candidate for 43-Phungyar (ST) A/C also wrote, “Welcome to Ukhrul. It was an honour to welcome the leaders of BJP Manipur to Ukhrul district headquarter as part of thambal campaign.”
