Manipur: Bomb Explosion Kills 4-year-old Boy, Father Severely Injured

UKHRUL: In a tragic incident, a bomb exploded at Taolingpung village, Namkaolong part -II under Khoupum PS, Noney district in Manipur, killing a four-year-old boy and injuring his father in both legs. 

The injured father has been identified as Thuankungam Pamei, 60, son of Jaikhangjeipou Pamei. He has been admitted to Raj Medicity in Imphal for treatment. The deceased child has been identified as Kalaingampou Pamei.

As per sources, the incident happened around 8.30 am when the father-son duo accidentally hit on the unexplored lathode bomb while were trimming bushes near their house.

Thuankungam Pamei, a retired personnel of 14th Assam Rifles (F Coy), lost his son and received severe injury in both legs from the explosion.

Meanwhile, after necessary procedures, the mortal remains of the child has been taken to JNIMS, Imphal for post mortem.

A case has been registered at Khoupum Police Station for further necessary investigation.
