Manipur COVID-19 tally at 4876: 111 new cases

UT News Service | IMPHAL, Aug 19: Manipur’s COVID-19 tally rose to 4,765 cases with the detection of 111 more fresh cases in the last 24 hours, official sources said on Wednesday. Among the 111 new cases, 56 are personnel of the Central security forces while of the rest 55 are locals. Among them, 48 cases have no recent travel history, a report from COVID-19 Common Control Room said. Out of the total 4,765 cases recorded in the state till date, are active cases.

Meanwhile, the control room stated that asymptomatic or mild symptomatic persons willing to undergo home isolation were encouraged to do so after consultation with the chief medical officers of their respective districts.

Meanwhile, a total of 96 persons were discharged on Wednesday after they recovered from the disease, the report from COVID-19 Common Control Room also said.
